Twenty-five students kidnapped from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State, have regained their freedom.
The release was confirmed on Tuesday by reliable government and security officials.
According to sources, the rescued schoolgirls are currently being transported to the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, where they will undergo medical checks and a formal debriefing.
“The girls have been freed. They are on their way to the State House,” a senior official said.
Although their release has been confirmed, details of the operation remain unclear at this time.
Security officials noted that the breakthrough followed intensified joint efforts by the military, police, vigilantes, and intelligence units combing forest paths and surrounding areas.
The students were abducted on Monday, November 17, when armed men stormed their boarding school in Maga.
