FG Moves To Boost Revenue With Digital System
The Federal Government has begun talks with banks over a new digital revenue system known as the Revenue Optimisation Assurance Platform, designed to improve collection of public funds, reduce leakages and strengthen transparency in government finance.
The initiative was discussed at a sensitisation workshop in Abuja organised by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.
Officials said the platform will modernise how federal agencies generate, collect and report revenue using a centralised automated system.
According to government representatives, the system replaces old manual processes that have caused inefficiencies in revenue collection over the years.
They noted that banks play a key role in ensuring smooth transactions and effective implementation of the platform across the country.
Authorities explained that the success of the project depends on strong cooperation between financial institutions and government agencies.
They added that more than 70 per cent of federal government entities have already been onboarded as rollout continues nationwide.
