Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Saturday for a three-day official visit to Nigeria.
The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic and strategic relations between both countries and boost cooperation in governance, trade, agriculture, energy, education, security, and other key sectors.
Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima, in a post on X, confirmed the visit, stating it would run from August 30 to September 2, 2025, and would focus on deepening diplomatic and economic cooperation.
“From August 30 to September 2, 2025, Nigeria will host Her Excellency Francia Márquez, Vice President of Colombia, on an official visit to deepen diplomatic and economic cooperation. This historic engagement will strengthen ties in trade, agriculture, education, energy, culture, and women’s empowerment, opening a new chapter in South-South collaboration. Together, we are building bridges and shaping a future of shared prosperity.”
