A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore; lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, a member of Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team; Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the IPOB leader’s brother; and ten others.
The thirteen defendants were each granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
According to PUNCH Online, they were arrested and charged with inciting public disturbance and breach of peace over their involvement in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held on October 20 in Abuja.
While Ejimakor, Emmanuel Kanu, and the other ten individuals were detained following their arrest during the protest and remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre, Sowore was apprehended on October 23 at the Federal High Court premises in Abuja, where he had gone to express solidarity during Nnamdi Kanu’s terrorism trial.
