Dangote Increases Petrol Price
Petrol prices are climbing across Nigeria as costs approach N1,400 per litre, driven by global tensions and supply pressure.
The rise followed a fresh increase by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which adjusted its loading price upward.
The change came after crude oil prices jumped sharply amid the crisis involving United States and Iran, affecting global supply routes.
The situation worsened with disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz, pushing energy costs higher.
Across Lagos and nearby states, filling stations raised pump prices to above N1,300 per litre, while some northern areas recorded figures close to N1,400.
The increase followed adjustments by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in crude pricing.
Industry operators say the trend may continue if global tensions persist, warning that further hikes could hit transport and food costs.
Calls have also grown for government action to ease the burden on consumers.
