The Deeper Christian Life Ministry has debunked a viral publication falsely attributed to its General Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi, describing it as malicious and entirely fabricated.
The report, published by an unverified platform called “Ibomfocus,” carried the headline America Is Trying To Steal Our Natural Resources; There Is No Christian Genocide In Nigeria, Says Pastor Kumuyi. The church dismissed the claim as a complete falsehood and a product of mischief.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry clarified that Pastor Kumuyi never addressed any press conference or made any political comment in Lagos. It explained that he has been out of Nigeria for some time, leading gospel crusades across the Oceania region and the Far East.
The statement further stressed that Pastor Kumuyi is known for his commitment to spreading the message of Jesus Christ and does not engage in political discourse, contrary to the insinuations made in the fake report.
The Ministry warned individuals and online platforms against dragging Pastor Kumuyi into political matters or publishing fabricated stories in his name, cautioning that any future attempt may result in serious consequences.
