No fewer than 1,600 delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State are preparing to select the party’s governorship flagbearer ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Accreditation of delegates was completed by the party’s electoral committee at about 10 am, clearing the way for the primary election to begin at any moment.
A total of 1,660 delegates were elected for the exercise, based on five delegates from each local government area, including the area office in Modakeke.
The primary venue is already crowded with accredited delegates, party observers, security personnel and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
However, as of the time of reporting, the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, alongside other officials from the party’s National Secretariat, had yet to arrive at the venue for the exercise.
