IGP Disu Seeks Better Welfare For Retired Police
Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has appealed for better care and stronger support for retired police officers across Nigeria.
He said former officers deserve to enjoy a decent life after spending years protecting the country.
The police chief urged the government, private organisations and other stakeholders to improve welfare programmes for retired personnel.
He said their years of sacrifice should be rewarded with proper care and respect.
Disu also called for lasting opportunities that would keep retired officers engaged after leaving active service. He noted that many still have valuable experience that can benefit society if properly utilised.
He maintained that retired police officers should not be forgotten after their service years.
According to him, giving them dignity, support and meaningful opportunities remains an important responsibility.
