Ebonyi Pledges Support For Tinubu – Umahi
Minister of Works Dave Umahi says Ebonyi State will fully support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
He made the statement on Saturday in Abakaliki while speaking to journalists and editors touring projects across the South East region.
Umahi said the decision reflects the position of the state ahead of a planned political gathering on Monday where leaders are expected to declare support for the president.
He added that Governor Francis Nwifuru will lead the process on behalf of the state during the event.
The former Ebonyi governor said the people of the state are aligned with Tinubu’s administration and will not back opposition figures, including supporters of Labour Party candidate Peter Obi.
He also dismissed claims that federal projects in the region are abandoned, pointing to ongoing road and infrastructure works as proof of progress.
Umahi maintained that Ebonyi has benefited from federal attention under the current administration and described criticism from opposition voices as misleading.
He further said the state is aligning with what he called the president’s development plans ahead of the next election cycle.
