Democracy Has Failed Nigerians – ADC On Tinubu’s Administration
The opposition has criticised the administration of , arguing that democracy has not translated into better living conditions for many Nigerians.
In a Democracy Day message released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, , the party said citizens should judge democracy by its impact on their daily lives.
It questioned whether Nigerians are safer, more prosperous and more confident in government than in previous years.
The ADC said insecurity, economic hardship and declining trust in public institutions remain major concerns across the country.
According to the party, many communities continue to face violence, kidnappings and fear, while businesses and households struggle with rising living costs.
It argued that the challenges have placed increasing pressure on ordinary citizens and weakened confidence in governance.
The party also expressed concern over unemployment and uncertainty among young Nigerians. It said many youths are finding it difficult to secure meaningful opportunities, while others are looking beyond the country for a better future.
The ADC blamed the situation on poor leadership and policies it believes have failed to address the country’s pressing problems.
Presenting its alternative vision, the party called for intelligence-led and community-based security measures, alongside economic policies focused on easing hardship and supporting growth.
It said government performance should be measured by improvements in security and living standards rather than promises.
The ADC added that the ideals of the June 12 struggle would be better honoured through reforms that deliver safety, opportunity and prosperity for citizens.
