EFCC Sends Warning To Creators Over Misuse
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has cautioned content creators across Nigeria against using its name, logo, or image in skits and online productions without permission.
The agency said such usage is becoming more common in digital content.
The commission explained that many of these portrayals do not reflect its real operations. It said this often leads to confusion about how it works and how its officers carry out investigations.
EFCC warned that anyone who continues to use its identity without approval risks prosecution. It stressed that legal action will be taken against individuals or groups who misrepresent the agency.
The agency urged creators to seek proper clearance before featuring its brand in any content.
It said the move is aimed at protecting its image and ensuring public understanding of its work.
