FG Begins Foreign Scholarship Payments
The Federal Government has started paying outstanding 2025 allowances to students benefiting from the Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship Programme in foreign countries.
The payment covers approved funds owed to Nigerian scholars studying under partnerships with countries abroad.
Officials said the disbursement was approved to support students facing financial pressure while studying overseas.
Beneficiaries across different partner institutions have reportedly started receiving their allowances as the process continues.
The scholarship programme allows Nigerian students to study in countries with educational agreements signed with the Federal Government.
The scheme covers academic support in areas such as tuition, welfare and living expenses for qualified students.
Authorities said the payment process would continue until all verified beneficiaries receive their approved allowances.
Students and parents welcomed the development, describing it as relief amid rising costs of living abroad.
