Sanwo-Olu’s Aide Hospitalized At Peace Meeting
A reconciliation meeting of the All Progressives Congress in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State ended in violence after clashes over House of Representatives primary disputes.
The incident led to the hospitalisation of the state Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe.
The meeting, held to settle disagreements arising from the Lagos West primary election, reportedly broke down when supporters of rival political camps disagreed.
Tension escalated quickly as both sides confronted each other over the disputed outcome.
Eyewitnesses said armed thugs invaded the venue with dangerous weapons, causing panic and forcing people to flee.
The commissioner, who was said to be targeted during the chaos, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital while his vehicle was damaged.
The unrest has deepened concerns within the Lagos APC structure, especially in Alimosho where the party holds strong influence.
Party members and community leaders have called for calm and urged leaders to take urgent steps to prevent further violence ahead of future elections.
