Content creator Folorunsho Olayinka, popularly known as Finest, has disclosed that late comedian Adetola Samad, widely called Sanku, still had an outstanding debt of N13 million on the 2012 Lexus RX 350 SUV involved in the accident that claimed his life.

Sanku died on September 2, 2025, when his vehicle plunged into a river along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State. His passing was first announced on social media by actor Yemi Elesho.

During a TikTok livestream, Finest explained that he acted as guarantor when Sanku purchased the SUV for N25.4 million. According to him, the comedian made an initial payment of N7 million to JJ Motors Empire and Services Limited on June 5, 2025, before continuing with instalment payments totaling N12.28 million prior to his death.

“I was only a guarantor because the dealer trusted me. I didn’t tell him to come to Ilorin. He requested a driver, and I arranged one for him.

“So what would I gain by harming someone who still owed about N13 million that I guaranteed? I don’t even know the driver. I’m only speaking because I’ve been accused. I even have voice notes of him thanking me for helping him,” Finest stated.

He added that he sent funds for Sanku’s treatment after reports that hospital staff delayed attending to him.

Meanwhile, one of Sanku’s close friends alleged that the comedian was under pressure to return the Lexus and exchange it for a Nigerian-used Toyota Venza, as he was struggling to complete the outstanding payment of about N2.3 million.
