Fubara Vows Urgent Intervention As Protesters March In Rivers
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has promised urgent action to address the gas leak and environmental pollution affecting Bille community in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.
He gave the assurance on Monday after meeting residents who marched to the Government House in Port Harcourt to demand government intervention.
The protesters complained about the impact of the gas leak on their environment and livelihoods, urging the state government to act quickly to protect lives and restore the affected community.
Fubara assured the demonstrators that their concerns had been received and that the government would work with the relevant authorities to investigate the incident and provide a lasting solution.
The governor urged residents to remain peaceful while efforts are made to resolve the problem, promising that the welfare and safety of the affected community would remain a priority.
