APC Is Using Judiciary To Weaken Opposition – Obidient Movement
The Obidient Movement has accused the All Progressives Congress of using the judiciary to weaken opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election.
The group made the allegation on Monday during a press conference in Abuja, following recent court decisions involving the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
The movement claimed the legal challenge against the NDC was politically motivated and came shortly after Peter Obi joined the party.
It argued that the move was intended to stop Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, from contesting the next presidential election.
According to the group, growing political interference in the judiciary could weaken public trust in the justice system.
It also alleged that government institutions were being used to frustrate opposition parties instead of allowing fair political competition.
Despite the court dispute, the movement urged its supporters to remain peaceful and respect the law.
It maintained that the Obi-Kwankwaso presidential ticket would remain on the ballot for the 2027 election and pledged to continue pursuing its political goals through democratic means.
