Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR of Anambra State earlier yesterday joined the people of Omor in Ayamelum Local Government area for the traditional New Yam Festival, a celebration of culture and harvest that further highlighted the bond between the Governor and the community.
The Governor and his entourage were received by the Traditional Ruler, Igwe Chris Oranu at his palace. Governor Soludo expressed, warmly embracing the local customs and the spirit of camaraderie in the air.

He conveyed his gratitude for the unwavering support he has received from the people of Omor, recalling his initial experience in the community when he first ran for office of the Governor.

Further addressing the people, the governor reminded them of the significant developments under his administration, such as the ongoing construction of a 30-kilometer stretch of road that, despite delays caused by rain, is expected to be completed within the next dry season.
He emphasized the importance of infrastructure in enhancing connectivity and access to various communities, particularly Ayamelum, which he noted has the largest land mass in the state.
Governor Soludo also spoke on his administration’s commitment to the health and educational sectors in Ayamelum.
