I Joined NDC Due To Obi’s Influence – FCT Rep
Member of the House of Representatives for AMAC/Bwari, Chinedu Obika, says his shift to the Nigeria Democratic Congress was influenced by former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
He said his political decisions have remained tied to Obi’s direction and leadership style.
Speaking in Abuja, Obika explained that he stayed in the Labour Party through its internal disputes because of his loyalty to Obi.
He said the uncertainty within the party eventually pushed many members to rethink their positions.
The lawmaker noted that Obi’s involvement in the emerging NDC coalition encouraged him and some supporters to align with the new platform.
He added that political choices should focus more on leadership quality and ideas than party labels.
Obika also urged political actors across different parties to work together for national progress.
He said his priority remains service delivery, pointing to bills and constituency projects he has sponsored in the Federal Capital Territory.
