The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), retired General Christopher Musa, on Friday stated that he is leaving active service with pride and a clear conscience.
Delivering his valedictory remarks during his Pulling Out Parade on Friday in Abuja, Musa said he had devoted his entire career to serving the nation.
The former CDS also expressed appreciation to the Nigerian people, especially the youth, for their faith and prayers towards achieving a safer country, and extended gratitude to the media for their contribution to national development.
“As I formally retire my uniform, I am leaving the stage with pride and a clear conscience, having given my all in service to Nigeria.”
“I may be retiring from active service today, but I will never retire from my love for Nigeria.”
“I remain a soldier at heart and a patriot committed to the Constitution and sovereignty of our great nation,” he said.
Musa concluded his remarks by thanking God for divine protection throughout his military career.
The former CDS pledged to continue contributing to the service of Nigeria in other capacities.
