INEC Yet To Receive Certified Court Order On NDC Registration
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has not received the Certified True Copy of the Federal High Court judgment delivered in Lokoja concerning the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The commission disclosed that the document has yet to be served on it.
The judgment, delivered by the Federal High Court in Lokoja, set aside an earlier ruling that directed INEC to register the NDC as a political party.
The latest decision has triggered legal and political reactions from the party and its supporters.
INEC explained that it could not take any position on the matter until it receives and studies the certified judgment.
The commission said its next steps would be guided by the contents of the court document.
The development comes as the NDC has already announced plans to challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal, insisting that it remains a political party while the legal process continues.
