Zamfara Chairman Seeks Tinubu’s Help, Weeps Over Continuous Killings
Zamfara State was thrown into fresh grief after the Chairman of Talata Mafara Local Government Area, Yahaya Yari, broke down in tears during the burial of 15 residents killed in a bandit attack on Tungar Bore settlement in Sado village.
He appealed to President Bola Tinubu for urgent action to end the violence.
The emotional scene unfolded on Friday as families gathered to bury the victims.
A video shared by security analyst Bakatsine showed the council chairman struggling to speak as he urged the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, to draw the President’s attention to the worsening security situation.
The chairman said Zamfara urgently needs stronger federal intervention to stop the repeated attacks.
He noted that Matawalle, as the state’s representative in the Federal Executive Council, should push for immediate measures to protect communities under constant threat.
Bakatsine said 14 men and one woman lost their lives in the attack, describing it as another reminder of the growing insecurity across the North-West.
The latest killings add to years of deadly assaults that have forced many residents from their homes and disrupted farming activities across the state.
