Mato Na Mato, a beloved Kannywood actor known as Malam Nata’ala, has sadly passed away after a prolonged illness.
Hailing from Potiskum in Yobe State, he gained fame for his outstanding portrayal of an almajiri school teacher in the popular Arewa24 Hausa drama series, Dadin Kowa.
In the lead-up to his passing, Mato Na Mato had made several appeals on social media, seeking public support to manage his escalating medical costs.
In August, he expressed remorse to anyone he may have wronged, revealing that he was spending ₦250,000 weekly on injections for his health condition.
His situation drew the attention of Niger Republic’s President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, who generously contributed ₦27 million to assist with his treatment.
