Kwankwaso Reacts To NDC Zoning 2027 Presidency
Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has backed the decision of the Nigeria Democratic Congress to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.
Speaking at the party’s convention in Abuja, he said the arrangement would help promote fairness, unity and political balance across the country.
Kwankwaso said the South should be allowed to complete its turn in producing Nigeria’s leadership before power returns to the North.
He added that the party’s agreement was aimed at supporting national healing and strengthening the principle of federal character ahead of the next election.
The former presidential candidate also raised concerns about the state of the country, pointing to insecurity, economic hardship and declining living conditions.
According to him, poor leadership and weak policies have left many Nigerians struggling while investments and development continue to slow down.
Despite the challenges, Kwankwaso said the NDC was prepared to offer a different direction for the country.
The party recently announced that its presidential ticket would remain in the South for a single four-year term before shifting back to the North in 2031.
