Tinubu Denies Viral Power Supply Claim
The Presidency has dismissed reports suggesting that President Bola Tinubu asked Nigerians to reject him if electricity supply does not improve.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said the claim being shared online did not originate from the President.
The clarification came after the alleged remark gained attention on social media and sparked public discussion.
According to Onanuga, the statement was false and misrepresented the President’s position on the power sector.
He said misleading reports often create confusion and urged Nigerians to rely on information released through official government channels.
The Presidency maintained that no such comment was made by Tinubu.
The response comes as the government continues to face scrutiny over electricity challenges while pursuing reforms aimed at improving power generation and distribution across the country.
