The Lagos State Government has again dismissed claims suggesting a strained relationship between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, describing the reports as baseless.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos governor, Gboyega Akosile, said the reports circulating online falsely portrayed a rift between the two leaders.
He stressed that the claims were misleading and did not represent the true situation, noting that both governors maintain a cordial and cooperative relationship.
According to Akosile, Governors Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun interact regularly and work closely on matters of mutual concern, particularly those linked to development and the shared interests of Lagos and Ogun states.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Prince Dapo Abiodun share a warm, brotherly relationship. They engage frequently and collaborate on initiatives that promote growth and development in both states,” the statement said.
Akosile added that the strong relationship between the two leaders is further strengthened by the shared borders and deep socio-cultural connections between Lagos and Ogun, which naturally encourage cooperation.
He cautioned bloggers and individuals spreading the reports to desist from creating unnecessary tension, while reaffirming that both governors remain focused on improving the welfare and living conditions of residents in their states.
