She and a security guard injured in the incident were later rushed to Maitama District Hospital, where both tragically died. Relatives alleged that their deaths were linked to delayed medical attention, claiming hospital staff refused immediate treatment until identification documents were presented.

Until her untimely passing, Maduagwu was a rising star at Arise News Channel, celebrated for her professionalism and dedication to storytelling. With a background in law, she also held the Miss Tourism Nigeria crown and represented the country at the Miss Tourism World pageant in China in 2023.

Her death has continued to draw widespread condolences and tributes from fans, colleagues, and close associates who described her as a promising talent gone too soon.
