Makinde Addresses Impeachment Talk
Seyi Makinde has responded to rumours of an impeachment move in Oyo State, acknowledging the speculation while maintaining focus on governance.
He spoke during the inauguration of committees set up to drive tourism development and preparations for the International Tourism Summit 2026.
The governor made a brief reference to the situation, noting that his administration still has about one year left, barring any political disruption.
His comment comes as tensions rise within the state assembly over alleged plots against his leadership.
Despite the uncertainty, Makinde outlined plans for a 25-year tourism roadmap aimed at boosting investment and positioning the state as a global destination.
He said long-term planning and strong institutions are key to sustaining development beyond political cycles.
He added that his government remains committed to delivering projects and building investor confidence.
The remarks come as speculation within the assembly continues, keeping the impeachment narrative in public focus.
