The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a major reduction in the 2026 Hajj fare following the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The new rates bring massive financial relief to intending Nigerian pilgrims across all regions.
According to figures released by the commission, which operates under the Presidency, the reduction varies by departure zone, with savings reaching as high as ₦792,943.83 compared to the 2025 Hajj fare.
Pilgrims from the Southern Zone will enjoy the biggest cut, as the fare has dropped from ₦8,784,085.59 to ₦7,991,141.76 — a decrease of ₦792,943.83.
Those departing from the Northern Zone will now pay ₦7,696,769.76 instead of ₦8,457,685.59, saving ₦760,915.83.
Meanwhile, the Borno and Adamawa Zone — which has the lowest rate nationwide — will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, marking a reduction of ₦748,104.63.
NAHCON also announced December 5 as the final deadline for all Hajj payments.
