Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) and Senate President Godswill Akpabio appear to have reconciled after months of strained relations, as the Kogi lawmaker extended an official invitation to Akpabio to attend a project commissioning in her constituency.

The invitation, personally signed by Akpoti-Uduaghan, was read aloud by the Senate President during Thursday’s plenary. The event, scheduled for Sunday in Ihima, Kogi State, will mark her second anniversary as a serving senator.

“In marking my second-year anniversary as serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite fellow Distinguished Senators to join me for projects commissioning in Kogi State,” the letter read.

According to the letter, senators are to gather at her residence on Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene. Lawmakers traveling by air were advised to use the Obajana Airstrip before proceeding to the venue by road.

After reading the letter, Akpabio congratulated Akpoti-Uduaghan in advance, signaling a warm tone between the two.

The invitation is viewed as a significant peace gesture following their public clash in February over seat reallocation in the Senate—a dispute that culminated in Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension on March 6.

Since her reinstatement on September 24, the senator has been actively engaging in plenary sessions, contributing to debates and motions. Her latest outreach to Akpabio marks her clearest effort yet to restore cordial relations and foster unity within the upper chamber.
