NDC Zones Presidency To South – Galadima
In Nigeria, Buba Galadima has said the Nigeria Democratic Congress has zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the southern region.
He disclosed this on Monday during a television interview while outlining the party’s plans ahead of the elections.
He also revealed that the party would submit its membership register to the Independent National Electoral Commission within days.
According to him, completing the process would position the party to fully participate in the electoral cycle.
On candidate selection, Galadima said the party would conduct primaries rather than adopt a consensus option.
He maintained that zoning to the south had already been decided and would guide the emergence of its presidential flagbearer.
The development follows the recent entry of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso into the party after leaving the African Democratic Congress amid internal disputes.
The move adds momentum to ongoing political realignments ahead of 2027.
