Obi, Kwankwaso Exit Brings Relief – ADC
In Abuja, the African Democratic Congress said the exit of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is both a setback and a relief as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
The reaction followed the duo’s decision to leave the party amid internal issues and political realignments.
The party explained that while losing two prominent figures affects its strength, their departure also eases internal tension that had been building in recent months.
It maintained that disagreements and pressure within the structure contributed to the situation.
ADC leaders said the party remains focused on rebuilding and strengthening its base across the country.
Efforts are ongoing to stabilise the platform and prepare for its next national convention and future contests.
Despite the shake-up, the party expressed confidence in its structure and plans. It said it will move forward with its activities and continue working towards presenting a strong front ahead of the 2027 polls.
