Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has appointed Oluwatosin Adejumo, a young street puff-puff seller, as a chef at the Osun State Government House in Osogbo, the state capital.
Tribune Online reports that Adejumo received her appointment letter on Friday, fulfilling a promise Adeleke made during a rally in Osogbo. The governor had made the pledge when thousands of Osun public servants gathered in appreciation of his support and care since assuming office.
During the rally, Adeleke reportedly bought all the puff-puff snacks from Adejumo for N50,000 and offered her employment as a chef at the Government House.
In a video obtained by Tribune Online, the governor, seated in a bus, called out to Adejumo by the roadside and asked the cost of her entire stock. Afterward, he invited her into the vehicle, inquired about the dishes she could prepare, and instructed his aides to collect her contact details for the Government House position.
On Friday, Adejumo, accompanied by her parents, was formally presented with her appointment letter by Governor Adeleke at the Government House in Osogbo.
