Paris Refund Row Deepens Over EFCC Claims
A fresh dispute has emerged over the Paris Club refund case, with a source disputing claims that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission cleared Ned Nwoko.
The source said the agency’s report has been wrongly presented. The matter centres on payments linked to consultancy services tied to the refunds.
According to the source, the EFCC only confirmed that payment was made for work carried out, not that any further claim was valid.
The payment, reportedly approved during the tenure of Muhammadu Buhari, involved key institutions. However, the issue now is an alleged attempt to secure another payment on the same deal.
The source insisted the EFCC never backed any duplicate payment request. It warned that linking the agency to such approval could create problems.
The position, it said, is clear that no second payment was authorised in the report.
Meanwhile, Nwoko has rejected claims that he is pursuing fresh payments, describing the reports as misleading.
He maintained that past investigations confirmed the work done and said any outstanding issues follow due process.
The controversy continues as conflicting figures and approvals raise questions around the transaction.
