Atiku Reacts To Adelabu’s Family Abduction
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the abduction of the sister and twin nephews of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu in Ibadan, saying the incident reflects the worsening insecurity across Nigeria.
He urged security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the victims’ safe return and bring the kidnappers to justice.
The ADC presidential candidate said the attack was particularly disturbing because it reportedly happened around Challenge Bus Stop, one of the busiest locations in Ibadan.
He noted that such an operation in a crowded area raises fresh concerns about public safety and the ability of criminals to strike without fear.
Atiku said the kidnapping crisis has spread beyond ordinary citizens and now affects families linked to government officials.
According to him, criminals do not target people based on political affiliation, profession or social status, making every Nigerian vulnerable to the threat.
He called on the Federal Government to adopt a stronger intelligence-based security strategy to dismantle kidnapping networks, protect communities and restore public confidence.
He added that the growing wave of abductions shows the urgent need for more effective action against violent crime.
