PDP Rejects Wabara Leadership Claim
The Peoples Democratic Party has dismissed claims by Adolphus Wabara that he now leads the party after a recent Supreme Court of Nigeria ruling.
The party said his statement came after the court voided the Ibadan convention held in November 2025.
Party officials said Wabara has no authority to speak for the PDP, noting that the tenure of the Board of Trustees he once led has expired.
They insisted the court ruling only nullified the convention and did not remove any party officers or create a leadership gap.
The PDP maintained that its leadership structure remains intact under Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu.
It accused rival factions of misrepresenting the judgment to confuse members and destabilise the party.
Meanwhile, party leaders and members have called for calm and unity, urging aggrieved groups to resolve disputes through dialogue as preparations continue for future elections.
