President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will travel to the United Kingdom later in March following an invitation from the British monarch. The visit is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, March 18, to Thursday, March 19, 2026.

He will be accompanied by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, as part of a State Visit hosted by His Majesty The King. The trip places Nigeria at the centre of high-level diplomatic engagement with the UK.

The visit is expected to focus on strengthening ties between both countries, with attention on political cooperation, economic relations and shared interests. State Visits of this nature are usually reserved for close partners and long-standing allies.

The short but symbolic trip is set to draw interest at home and abroad, coming at a time when Nigeria is seeking stronger global partnerships and renewed international engagement.
