Udenwa Drags Kenneth Okonkwo To Court
Former Imo State Governor Achike Udenwa has taken legal action against Kenneth Okonkwo over remarks allegedly made during a June 8, 2026 interview.
The suit seeks a retraction of the statements, a public apology and ₦5 billion in damages.
Udenwa contends that the comments were defamatory and damaging to his reputation.
Through the lawsuit, he is asking the court to compel Okonkwo to withdraw the remarks and issue an apology through appropriate public channels.
The legal dispute follows an interview in which Okonkwo allegedly made statements that the former governor considers false and injurious.
The case is expected to draw attention given the public profiles of both men and their involvement in Nigerian politics.
With the matter now before the courts, the dispute could test the boundaries between political commentary and defamation.
The outcome may also influence future public discourse involving political figures and public personalities.
