Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has challenged former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai to a bet over the outcome of the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure re-election.
Speaking during a media chat on Monday, Wike dismissed El-Rufai’s recent prediction that Tinubu would place third in the 2027 race, describing the analysis as flawed.
“El-Rufai is my friend, but he failed in this mathematics. He goofed. Since he knows Tinubu will come third, he should also provide who will be first and second,” Wike said.
The minister declared his willingness to wager on Tinubu’s victory if El-Rufai accepts the challenge.
