Ajaka Gets APC Senate Clearance
Former Kogi governorship candidate Yakubu Ajaka has scaled the screening process for the Kogi East senatorial race ahead of the 2027 elections after being cleared by the All Progressives Congress.
The exercise was handled by a committee led by former Edo deputy governor Philip Shaibu.
Ajaka, widely known as Muri, was granted a waiver during the screening and asked to take a bow before leaving.
Party members described the move as recognition of his service to the APC and his past role as Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party.
Speaking after the exercise, Ajaka urged political leaders in Kogi East to embrace peace and unity, saying development can only happen when stakeholders work together.
He said his ambition was centred on giving the people stronger representation and attracting projects, jobs and investment to the district.
The APC chieftain also promised to focus on insecurity, unemployment and infrastructure if elected.
He paid tribute to supporters who died during the 2023 governorship election and called on residents to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term.
