Onyinyechi Basil has clinched the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 title, proudly representing Anambra State at the national beauty contest.
The 25-year-old earned the crown during the pageant’s grand finale on Saturday night in Lagos, surpassing 21 fellow contestants to succeed last year’s queen, Chidimma Adetishina.
After her win, Basil encouraged young girls to dream big while embracing their roots, saying, “I want young girls to know that they can achieve more, and still celebrate their cultural identity.”
According to DAILY POST, Basil will now fly Nigeria’s flag at the Miss Universe 2025 competition. Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, claimed first runner-up, with Bayelsa’s Fortune Kurobo placing second runner-up and Ogun’s Irene Ikediashi taking third runner-up.
