APC Fixes Date For Primaries
The All Progressives Congress has fixed May 15, 2026, for its presidential primary ahead of the 2027 elections, with the form priced at ₦100 million.
The timetable, released in Abuja on April 20, outlines key steps for aspirants. It marks the start of the party’s internal process for selecting candidates across all positions.
The schedule begins with the notice of election to state chapters, followed by the sale of forms between April 25 and May 2.
Aspirants must submit completed forms by May 4, while screening will hold from May 6 to May 8. Results will be published on May 9, with appeals running from May 11 to May 13.
The presidential primary will hold from May 15 to May 16, followed by other contests in phases.
House of Representatives primaries come next on May 18, Senate on May 20, State Assembly on May 21, and governorship on May 23. Appeals for each category will follow shortly after the exercises.
The party also released a breakdown of fees, placing the presidential form at ₦100 million, while governorship costs ₦50 million and Senate ₦20 million.
Concessions were introduced for women, youths and persons with disabilities, who will pay reduced nomination fees. The party said the process follows electoral laws and aims to ensure a transparent selection process.
