APC Leaders Backs Oyebanji For Ekiti Win
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress on Monday rallied behind Biodun Oyebanji in Ado Ekiti, declaring him set for victory ahead of the June 20 governorship poll.
The endorsement came during the launch of his re-election campaign, attended by top party figures and several state governors.
The gathering drew key political actors, including Hope Uzodimma, Uba Sani and other APC leaders, alongside former Ekiti governors and lawmakers.
Party chairman Nentawe Yilwatda said the party was confident of winning across all parts of the state due to Oyebanji’s acceptance among voters.
Supporters pointed to the governor’s record in office, saying his performance in infrastructure, education and youth programmes has earned public trust.
They described the election as a test of the party’s strength ahead of 2027, while urging residents to back continuity.
Oyebanji, seeking a second term with his deputy Monisade Afuye, promised improved governance if re-elected.
He credited his administration’s progress to support from Bola Tinubu and called for strong voter turnout, setting a target of at least 500,000 votes for the party.
