Aspirant Challenges Conduct Of NDC Primary In Anambra
A House of Representatives aspirant for Awka North and South Federal Constituency in Anambra State, Engineer Chukwuebuka Akubueze, has faulted the conduct of the Nigeria Democratic Congress primary election, saying parts of the exercise were not properly handled and did not reflect the choice of party members.
Akubueze said the voting in Awka North followed the Option A4 system and was peaceful, with party members openly aligning with their preferred candidates.
He added that results from the area showed strong support for him, but claimed the final result sheet was removed and not collated in front of stakeholders.
He alleged that the process in Awka South was different, saying the designated venue was changed and access was restricted.
According to him, some party members were unable to enter the hall, including his supporters, while the exercise continued inside.
The aspirant called for a review of the process, insisting that the outcome should reflect the votes cast.
He urged party leaders to examine available evidence and maintain fairness in the handling of internal elections while supporters await the party’s final decision.
