Kogi Community Attack Leaves Over 30 Abducted
Suspected terrorists struck Ayegunle Bunu in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State in the early hours of Monday, leaving one person dead and more than 30 others kidnapped.
The attack happened around 2:25 a.m. when armed men stormed the community and caused panic.
The assailants were said to have killed a resident during the raid while another person sustained injuries.
Two locals, a man and a woman, were also taken away, alongside several passengers travelling in a commercial bus passing through the area.
Reports indicate that the gunmen stopped the bus and forced the passengers into the bush.
The attackers operated for several minutes without resistance before fleeing with the victims to an unknown location.
The incident has raised fresh concern among residents over rising insecurity in Kogi State, especially along routes linking communities to neighbouring border areas with Kwara State.
