Atiku Tackles Tinubu Over Insecurity, Hardship
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised President Bola Tinubu over worsening economic conditions, saying many Nigerians are battling hunger, poverty and insecurity three years into the current administration.
The comments came as the government marked its third anniversary in office.
Through his spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku argued that soaring food prices, inflation and unemployment have left families struggling to meet basic needs.
He said businesses are shutting down while many citizens are finding it harder to maintain their standard of living.
The former Vice President also pointed to recent abductions involving schoolchildren in Borno State and Oyo State, saying insecurity remains a major concern.
He urged Nigerians to use democratic processes to decide the country’s future and announced that the ADC would soon unveil its policy programme.
Responding to the criticism, Tinubu maintained that security agencies have stepped up operations against criminal groups across the country.
He said investments in intelligence, technology and security coordination are producing results, while assuring Nigerians that efforts to improve safety and national development will continue.
