NDC Primary Faces Legal Threat
Fresh controversy has erupted within the Nigeria Democratic Congress as aggrieved House of Representatives aspirants challenged the outcome of the party’s primary election.
The dissatisfied contenders alleged that results announced by party officials did not reflect the actual votes cast during the exercise.
The aspirants claimed irregularities occurred during the collation process and accused the election committee of announcing figures that differed from what delegates voted.
They insisted the outcome lacked credibility and failed to represent the will of party members.
The dispute emerged shortly after the primaries, raising fresh concerns about internal democracy within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The affected aspirants said they had gathered evidence to support their claims and were demanding an immediate review of the process.
They warned that legal action would follow if their complaints were ignored.
According to them, the matter could be taken to court unless the party addresses the alleged irregularities and restores confidence in the primary election process.
