Drones Will Be My Defence Minister – Sowore
African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled an unusual security proposal, saying a drone would serve as his defence minister if he became Nigeria’s president.
He made the remark during a live television interview on Thursday while discussing insecurity and military reforms.
Sowore said Nigeria’s security problems could be tackled through technology, modern equipment and honest leadership within the armed forces.
He criticised military commanders who remain in Abuja instead of leading operations against terrorists and armed groups across the country.
The activist also called for reforms within the police force, insisting officers should focus on public safety rather than political assignments and social media-related arrests.
He added that drones and artificial intelligence would form part of a modern command centre designed to track and eliminate criminal groups.
Despite his strong support for technology, Sowore maintained that unemployment and lack of education remain major causes of insecurity.
According to him, lasting peace can only happen when young people have access to jobs, schools and better opportunities instead of turning to violence.
