FCT Police Rolls Out Welfare Buses
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has introduced a new transport scheme for its officers, beginning Monday, April 27, 2026.
The move follows approval from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as part of efforts to support personnel across Abuja.
The service was announced by police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, who said three compressed natural gas buses will operate daily.
The buses are assigned to major routes linking outskirts and key locations within the Federal Capital Territory.
One route runs from the Goshen and Auta-Balefi axis through Masaka, Mararaba and Nyanya to Area 11 headquarters.
Another covers Zuba through Madalla, Kubwa and Dutse Junction, while the third begins from Kuje and moves through Lugbe and the Airport Road corridor. All buses will depart at 6:15 a.m.
FCT Commissioner of Police Ahmed Sanusi said the plan is aimed at easing movement for officers and improving their daily work conditions.
He added that better welfare would help boost discipline, morale and overall performance.
