FG Clears Payment For Over 1,240 Contractors Across MDAs
The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved payments to more than 1,240 contractors working with various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The move is aimed at easing financial pressure on businesses and improving the flow of funds within the economy.
The approval covers outstanding obligations linked to government projects executed across different sectors.
Officials say the step is part of efforts to clear verified debts and ensure contractors are not delayed in receiving payment for completed work.
The government noted that faster settlement of contractors’ claims is expected to improve project delivery and reduce delays in ongoing infrastructure and service programmes nationwide.
It is also seen as a way to strengthen confidence in public sector contracts.
Authorities say the payment plan will support liquidity in the business environment and help contractors continue work on federal projects without disruption, while also improving overall implementation of government programmes.
