NDC Tightens Control Over Funds And Decisions
The Nigeria Democratic Congress has stated that it is not a special purpose vehicle or personality-driven structure that can be used and discarded after elections.
The party said it is building a long-term political institution with strong internal rules.
In a statement issued after its National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, said elected officials on its platform must work closely with party structures when taking key decisions.
This includes policies, programmes and appointments, except for personal staff.
The party also reaffirmed that its authority must guide all affiliated groups and organisations, insisting that they cannot operate independently or in parallel with its structure.
It added that party unity and discipline remain central to its operations.
NDC further stated that all donations and campaign funds must go directly through the party system, stressing that accountability and internal control are necessary to prevent misuse and ensure transparency.
